Flora & Fauna
This will be the first solo exhibition in a British public gallery by the artist Richard Woods.
Woods is largely celebrated for his all-encompassing installations of hand-printed wood-cut floors and elevations, which have been installed in an impressive array of differing contexts and situations, from a temporary installation in a British Stately Home to Venetian courtyards from private apartments to boutique stores in New York’s Chelsea district.
To complement the gallery exhibition Woods will be commissioned to create a new work for the exterior of the building. This continues the radical transformation of the building as recently seen in Michael Craig-Martin’s Surfacing a commission which celebrated the Gallery’s fifth anniversary.
