we are almost there….in one month THE 13 DAYS OF WASTE MARKET will open at the SECRET PROJECT ROBOT art space. It is my third and final solo show after BYE BYE THROWAWAY SOCIETY (1991) and PACKAGING INFERNO (1993)…
…and so it is a unique chance to get some of these worshipped products at depression style prices as everything must go….no one is turned down…no pris unic or pix fixe’ as they say.
The 13 days will be full of surprises and will inspire many yanbukis especially the ones new to the wonderful world of trash
as these so called crisis time have forced many more people to take a good look at what they consume…
THE WHOLE SPIRIT OF THE EXHIBIT WILL BE ON THE POSITIVE AND ON THE OPPORTUNITIES WE NOW HAVE
TO MAKE A RADICAL CULTURAL SWITCH AND STOP IGNORING ALL THOSE INVISIBLE PEOPLE WHO HAVE AND ARE LIVING OFF GARBAGE AROUND THE WORLD.
There will be four major dates:
APRIL 18 OPENING 7PM
APRIL 25 WORKSHOPS AND PERFORMANCES ONGOING FROM 1PM PART OF EARTH DAY WEEKEND
APRIL 26 OPEN FORUM TO ANYONE INTERESTED IN “HOW TO LIVE BETTER WITH WASTE”. THE FORUM WILL BE PROFESSIONALLY MODERATED WITH CONCRETE TASKS TO PLAN FORWARD FROM THERE.
MAY 1 THE CLOSING CEREMONIES BY THE RIVER FRONT…GRAND ST. FERRY PARK..WHICH IS ON THE FOOT OF GRAND ST. FROM 3PM TILL SUNSET…BANG ON A CAN STYLE JAMMING AND GRUB FOOD AND ALL LEFT OVERS GET RECYCLED.
For those of you in the NYC area please fwd. to all your lists….encourage wide distribution especially to people who would be experiencing trash worship displays and recycling and praying for the first time….
