This year for MAYDAY celebration we have a new initiative…. MAYDAY has been renamed to DUMPSTER DECORATION DAY,
first heard and with first logo appearing on the two prominent “trash” blogs…www.visibletrash.net and www.everydaytrash.com
I subscribe to this initiative, the DUMPSTER SYMBOLIZES THE DIRTIEST LOWEST SWEATIEST LABOR OF THE LABORERS.
It should be honored and decorated for the “workers holiday”….and also for all you “divers” out there, we cant just keep on diving in it, we must also give something back to the DUMPSTER, our waste womb, by decorating it and remembering its great “container”
value on this day!
A MAYDAY GATHERING IS CALLED FOR THIS FRIDAY MAY ONE AT THE GRAND STREET FERRY PARK IN WILLIAMSBURG
IT IS A SMALL AND QUIET PARK BY THE EAST RIVER AT THE FOOT OF GRAND STREET EASY REACH WITH “L” OR “J”
ONE STOP OVER FROM MANHATTAN.
STARTING AROUND 3PM UNTIL DARK….SLOW FOOD TO SHARE….TRASH CANS CIRCLE…..HONORING “ANUKI” GOD OF ALL TIDES AND PROTECTOR OF INSECTS…WE WILL ALSO LOOK FOR NEARBY DUMPSTER TO DECORATE.
BRING YOURSELF SOME SLOW FOOD CHINA SILVERWARE AND DRINK CUPS TO EAT THE SLOW FOOD. A CAN TO BANG ON AND SOME CRAYONS OR SIDEWALK CHALK TO DECORATE A DUMPSTER WITH..
THAT IS ABOUT IT!!!!
